THE FIRST CROP BULLETIN FOR THE 2025 2026 SEASON, RELEASED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF RURAL ECONOMY, DERAL, OF THE STATE SECRETARIAT OF AGRICULTURE AND SUPPLY, POINTS TO A POSITIVE PERFORMANCE OF FIELD ACTIVITIES IN PARANÁ. ACCORDING TO DATA FROM THE SUBJECTIVE CROP MONITORING SYSTEM, REFERENCING THE SECOND WEEK OF JANUARY, PLANTING OF THE MAIN CROPS CONTINUES AT A FAST PACE, WITH GOOD AGRONOMIC CONDITIONS ACROSS MOST PRODUCING REGIONS.

SOYBEANS, THE STATE’S MAIN AGRICULTURAL CROP, CURRENTLY OCCUPY APPROXIMATELY 4.8 MILLION HECTARES. MOST FIELDS ARE CLASSIFIED AS BEING IN GOOD CONDITION, WITH A PREVALENCE OF VEGETATIVE DEVELOPMENT AND FLOWERING STAGES. ESTIMATED PRODUCTION IS AROUND 22 MILLION METRIC TONS, REINFORCING EXPECTATIONS OF ANOTHER ROBUST HARVEST IN PARANÁ. THE REGIONAL HUBS WITH THE LARGEST PLANTED AREAS ARE CAMPO MOURÃO, PONTA GROSSA, CASCAVEL, AND TOLEDO.

IN THE CASE OF CORN, THE FIRST CROP ALREADY TOTALS APPROXIMATELY 339 THOUSAND HECTARES PLANTED, WITH FIELDS WELL DISTRIBUTED ACROSS ALL PRODUCING REGIONS. MORE THAN 90 PERCENT OF THE AREAS ARE RATED BETWEEN AVERAGE AND GOOD CONDITIONS, ACCORDING TO DERAL. THE SECOND CORN CROP, RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LARGEST SHARE OF TOTAL PRODUCTION IN THE STATE, IS PROJECTED AT OVER 2.8 MILLION HECTARES, WITH PLANTING STILL AT AN EARLY STAGE.

BEANS PRESENT TWO DISTINCT SCENARIOS. IN THE FIRST CROP, THE STATE RECORDS AROUND 103.6 THOUSAND HECTARES PLANTED, WITH HARVEST ALREADY UNDERWAY IN SOME REGIONS AND PRODUCTION ESTIMATED AT APPROXIMATELY 184 THOUSAND METRIC TONS. IN THE SECOND CROP, PLANTING IS STILL AT AN EARLY PHASE, WITH A LARGE SHARE OF THE EXPECTED AREA TO BE SEEDED IN THE COMING WEEKS.

THE POTATO CROP ALSO SHOWS RELEVANT PERFORMANCE. THE FIRST CROP ACCOUNTS FOR MORE THAN 16.6 THOUSAND HECTARES PLANTED, WITH HARVEST IN PROGRESS AND ESTIMATED PRODUCTION ABOVE 530 THOUSAND METRIC TONS. THE SECOND CROP IS MOSTLY IN THE PLANTING PHASE, WITH A PROJECTED AREA OF JUST OVER 10 THOUSAND HECTARES.

ACCORDING TO DERAL, WEATHER CONDITIONS HAVE FAVORED CROP DEVELOPMENT SO FAR. EVEN SO, MONITORING REMAINS CLOSE, ESPECIALLY REGARDING RAINFALL REGULARITY IN THE COMING MONTHS, A FACTOR CONSIDERED DECISIVE FOR THE CONSOLIDATION OF EXPECTED YIELD LEVELS THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.
