MINAS GERAIS AGRIBUSINESS HITS RECORD EXPORTS OF US$ 19,8 BILLION IN 2025

THE AGRIBUSINESS SECTOR IN MINAS GERAIS REACHED A HISTORIC RECORD IN 2025, WITH EXPORTS TOTALING US$ 19,8 BILLION, THE HIGHEST VALUE IN THE SERIES SINCE 1997. THE STRONG PERFORMANCE REFLECTS A POSITIVE YEAR-END CLOSE, WITH COFFEE STANDING OUT AS THE MAIN PRODUCT, ACCOUNTING FOR MORE THAN HALF OF THE TOTAL VALUE EXPORTED BY THE SECTOR.


ACCORDING TO THE DEPUTY SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE, LIVESTOCK, AND SUPPLY, JOÃO RICARDO ALBANEZ, AGRIBUSINESS IS A MAJOR ECONOMIC DRIVER FOR THE STATE, GENERATING JOBS, INCOME, AND HIGH-QUALITY FOOD FOR BRAZIL AND THE WORLD. "MINAS GERAIS WAS THE STATE WITH THE HIGHEST GROWTH IN EXPORTS IN THE SECTOR AMONG THE MAIN EXPORTING STATES, EVEN IN AN INTERNATIONAL SCENARIO OF CHALLENGES AND TARIFF BARRIERS, RANKING THIRD AMONG BRAZILIAN STATES EXPORTING AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS," HE HIGHLIGHTED.


THE TOTAL VOLUME EXPORTED WAS 16,2 MILLION TONNES, DOWN ABOUT 5% FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR, WHILE REVENUE GREW 15,5%, REPRESENTING 43,5% OF THE STATE'S TOTAL EXPORTS. THE PRODUCT MIX ALSO SHOWED HIGH DIVERSITY, WITH 650 PRODUCTS SENT TO 178 COUNTRIES. THE MAIN DESTINATIONS WERE CHINA (US$ 4,6 BILLION), THE UNITED STATES (US$ 1,9 BILLION), GERMANY (US$ 1,8 BILLION), ITALY (US$ 1 BILLION), AND JAPAN (US$ 1 BILLION).


PRODUCT PERFORMANCE VARIED. COFFEE WAS THE HIGHLIGHT, GENERATING US$ 11,4 BILLION WITH 27,4 MILLION SACKS EXPORTED, OVERCOMING THE IMPACT OF TARIFFS IMPOSED BY THE UNITED STATES. THE SOY COMPLEX (BEANS, MEAL, AND OIL) REGISTERED A 9,8% DECREASE IN REVENUE AND 1,2% IN VOLUME, TOTALING US$ 2 BILLION IN 4,7 MILLION TONNES. THE SUGAR-ETHANOL COMPLEX FELL 20%, WITH US$ 2 BILLION IN 4 MILLION TONNES. THE MEAT SECTOR (BEEF, PORK, AND CHICKEN) ACHIEVED THE HIGHEST HISTORICAL VALUE, WITH US$ 1,85 BILLION AND 513 THOUSAND TONNES. OTHER PRODUCTS, SUCH AS CHEESE AND SWEET MILK, ALSO STOOD OUT, GENERATING US$ 10 MILLION AND US$ 838 MILLION, RESPECTIVELY.
